In a significant step toward creating eco-friendly healthcare environments, the Special Presidential Envoy for Health and Nutrition, Hon. Abdirahman Mohamed Sheikh, spearheaded a tree-planting initiative at Forlanini/Lansereti Public Hospital. This activity aligns with President Hassan Sheikh’s vision to integrate environmental restoration with improved public health services.
The initiative focused on newly established hospital sections dedicated to treating women with mental health conditions. Over 100 trees were planted during the event, enhancing both the hospital’s aesthetic appeal and its environmental impact.
The tree-planting ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Dr. Mohamed Ja’far, Director of Forlanini/Lansereti Public Hospital, Dr. Farah Mohamed Sharawe, Director of the Ministry of Health’s Quality Control Authority, representatives from the Green Crescent Organization, and other senior officials.
This effort underscores the Somali government’s commitment to blending health services with environmental initiatives. By creating greener healthcare facilities, the government aims to foster holistic well-being and strengthen ties between public health and environmental stewardship.
