
The Special Envoy of the President of Somalia for Health and Nutrition Affairs visited the Ministry of Health in SSC-Khaatumo, where he met with the Minister of Health, Dr. Yusuf Saleeban (Sancad). The discussions focused on enhancing collaboration to improve public healthcare and nutrition services in SSC-Khaatumo, with both leaders stressing the urgency of addressing the region’s critical health needs.
Following this, the Envoy visited the General Hospital in Laascaanood, where he was received by the Director General of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Abdirisak Abdirahman, and the Hospital Director, Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan. During the visit, he toured key hospital departments, including the Blood Bank, the Children’s Malnutrition Ward, the Emergency Unit, the Maternal and Child Health Unit, and the Laboratory. He also observed the operations of the mobile vaccination team.
The Special Envoy praised the hospital staff and administration for their dedication, urging them to intensify their efforts in meeting the community’s healthcare needs. He emphasized the importance of unified efforts to ensure the provision of essential healthcare services to the region’s population.
This visit underscores the government’s commitment to improving healthcare infrastructure and addressing urgent health challenges in underserved regions like SSC-Khaatumo.
