The Special Presidential Envoy for Health and Nutrition

H.E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud appointed H.E Abdirahman Mohamed Sheikh as the Special Presidential Envoy for Health and Nutrition in September, 2024. A distinguished figure in Somali public service, the Special Envoy has held key roles in advancing Somalia’s healthcare agenda, advocating for equitable health systems, and addressing the country’s pressing nutrition challenges.

With extensive experience in policy-making and public administration, H.E Abdirahman Mohamed Sheikh is committed to improving healthcare access and tackling malnutrition through innovative, community-centered solutions. His mandate includes driving national strategies to strengthen Somalia’s healthcare systems, mobilize resources, and build sustainable health infrastructure to serve both urban and rural populations effectively.

The Special Envoy’s work focuses on fostering collaboration between the Federal Government, regional administrations, international partners, and local communities. Through policy advice, advocacy, and resource mobilization, he aims to bridge gaps in healthcare delivery and address the urgent needs of vulnerable populations.
